    Pucker Power

    By Kevin Stevens

    Quick Overview

Meet the Powers: the not-so-super superheroes. Despite their amazing talents, the Powers are not very good at controlling them. When we first meet Ted Power, his head is on fire, and Clare Power summons a massive downpour of rain instead of a light shower to put him out. JP, the wonderful flying boy, is really better at crashing into things than anything else, and Suzie Power has just had enough of the whole lot of them. A perfectly-paced adventure story featuring a colourful and genuinely funny family, The Powers will entertain and charm young readers.

'It had all happened so quickly. Both dogs gone. Nothing left of the men but a trail of green foot-prints up and over the stone bridge.'

Meet the Powers: the not-so-super superheroes. Despite their amazing talents, the Powers are not very good at controlling them ...

A perfectly prodigious tale of superpugly cunning and bravery!

When Pucker Power and the charming French poodle Penelope Parfait get dognapped, the Parfait family from Paris and the Power family from Castlerock are panic-stricken. But what nobody knows is that Pucker has a secret pugly superpower. (No, we can't tell you – you have to read the book!)

Pucker Power, the superpowered superpug, plans a superpowered rescue of his beloved Penelope and all their doggy fellow-prisoners. Chaos ensues.

Kevin Stevens has written grown-up books about bank robbers and jazz musicians but he also likes to write books for kids and teens. He helped the superheroes at Little Island create the Nightmare Club books for younger children and then went on to write his own books for children: The Powers and its companion book Pucker Power. Pucker is his favourite character, even though he weed on Kevin’s leg once, thinking it was a lamp-post. His first book for teenagers was This Ain’t No Video Game, Kid!, followed by A Lonely Note, winner of an IBBY Honour Award. Both published by Little Island, of course.
